Incipient Materials Pvt Ltd. is a Deep Technology start-up company of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi promoted by the faculty members of the Institute. It is incubated at the Institute under Foundation of Innovation and Technology Transfer (FIIT), IIT Delhi. It is registered in Delhi.

It aims at bringing the decades of research conducted on smart and functional textiles at SMITA Research Lab, a Center of Excellence in Smart Textiles, to the market for the benefit of the society at large.

The company has a highly specialized technical team behind its operations. It is a deep technology company involving scientists from various fields such as Textile and Fibre Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Nanotechnology.

The company has been promoted by a team from SMITA Research Lab, A Centre of Excellence in Smart Textiles at IIT Delhi. The team has technical collaborations with Scientists from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MIDS), Delhi, and several other organizations of repute. It has been instrumental in developing several emerging technologies and transferring them to Indian Industries.

The team has won National Award twice in 2016 and 2017 from Technology Development Board, GoI and received many other recognitions.
